Our Volunteers Are All Heart

Street Medicine St. Louis is nothing without its volunteers. Each week, a dozen or more volunteers give up precious free time to join us on the streets, caring for the city’s most vulnerable. Just to give you a sense of the scope of their work, in 2025, we had more than 2600 donated volunteer hours (likely a gross underestimation due to unlogged hours). These wonderful humans not only give up their time, but several also personally fund the outreach efforts, purchasing food and supplies to donate in-kind.

To celebrate our volunteers, we recently hosted a social event at the Soulard-based board game bar, Pieces. It was a wonderful occasion to connect with each other in a slightly different context. While we love the work, sitting down to share food creates new opportunities to get to know one another. Several of our dedicated volunteers earned personalized (and slightly silly) awards. This was such a joyous occasion, and I know we are looking forward to many more get-togethers in 2026.
