Board Member

Street Medicine St. Louis is seeking mission-driven community members to join its Board of Directors. The Board provides governance, strategic direction, and oversight of the Executive Director and organizational activities, while helping to secure the financial and community resources needed to sustain and grow the organization’s work. Board members are expected to act as ambassadors for Street Medicine St. Louis, leveraging their professional and personal networks to further the organization’s mission, and to support the organization financially.

We are seeking a diverse board with wide-ranging skill sets, backgrounds, and lived experiences, and with the time and talent to help guide the organization through its next phase of growth.

Community Health worker

Street Medicine St. Louis is seeking a Community Health Worker (CHW) to support our street medicine outreach team. The CHW will help patients navigate and access community services and other resources, and adopt healthy behaviors, while supporting providers and other team members through an integrated approach to care management and community outreach. As a priority, the CHW will promote, maintain, and improve the health of patients; provide social support and informal counseling; and advocate for individuals and community health needs.

This is a full-time, field-based position. Some after-hours and weekend work may be involved. It is not a hybrid or remote position.

street psychiatrist

Street Medicine St. Louis is seeking a psychiatrist to provide direct psychiatric care to unhoused individuals in outdoor and non-traditional settings, including encampments, under bridges, shelters, and engagement centers. The Street Psychiatrist will work alongside our interdisciplinary outreach team (physicians, nurses, social workers, and community health workers) to deliver low-barrier, trauma-informed psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment — including medication management for serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders — to a population with severe unmet behavioral health needs and significant medical, addiction, and social complexity.

This role requires comfort with clinical ambiguity, flexibility outside a traditional clinic environment, and a harm-reduction, housing-first philosophy of care.
