One of the core missions of Street Med STL is advocacy. We were recently invited to the State Capitol in Jefferson City to testify before the Governor’s Substance Abuse Task Force on the role of housing in substance use treatment. Our program director, Lesley Weinstein, and executive director, Dr. Nolan, spent a recent morning testifying on how housing policy reform can aid in the treatment of substance use disorders. We were happy to be joined by several friends from UMSLE’s Addiction Science team and the Black Harm Reduction Coalition.
